How was everyone's holiday? I'm atheist so I only indulge in the secular aspects of the holiday (I went to Catholic school starting in preschool, so I know this makes me a terrible person but I believe I can live with that), so I really enjoyed just spending time with my family. We opened gifts from "Santa" in the morning; mine were clothes and some new boots and makeup and a blender. I love how people have been getting me practical gifts lately because I HATE having things lying around that I can't use. So this year I just asked for warm clothes, eye makeup, and giftcards to Safeway. And my mom somehow remembered that I had mentioned in passing that I'd like a blender for my apartment next year, so she got one for me.

I also seem to have lost my secret santa gift dX Gotta make another! Luckily I have a set of crochet hooks at home, and I even have some really nice blue freshwater pearls that I can add in to make it an extra-special gift.

Chris called last night. We talk just about every night these days, and he's always sending me texts throughout the day. He thinks he loves me, and I thought I could get away with that not being an issue (ha!) until Sunday, when he called me up and we had a conversation that went something like this:

Cimone: Hey.
Chris: Hey. So. I had this great idea. Wanna hear?
Cimone: Sure...? [Knows his "great ideas" from past experience. They usually involve a lot of alcohol and are never great.]
Chris: I should propose to you.
Cimone: Wait. [Pauses.] WHAT?
Chris: [Slowly; as though explaining rocket science to a three-year-old] I. Should. Propose. To. You.
Cimone: WHAT? Why would you want to--
Chris: I 'm going to propose.
Cimone: [Has nothing to say.]
Chris:[Uncomfortably; about a minute has passed] You know. As a joke.

So yeah. On top of that, he made some snide comment last night about how, if I "played my cards right," I could have the joy of being stuck with him forever. Fucking shit.

Hope everyone else had an enjoyable Christmas!

Went to SF on Monday; left my camera in my coat pocket and subsequently left my coat in Danny's car so I have no photos, but it was still fun ^^ I got to meet and hang out with [info]avinastar , [info]airyu , [info]merli , and [info]princesaru , and I got to see [info]alanna_lioness though I didn't really get to talk to her much dX We didn't do much-- went to H&M, went to Baby, went to lunch, and went back to Baby-- but it was just nice to see people I liked and meet new friends. I met [info]manmadememories and sort-of talked to [info]carbonidiot again? Every time I've been in some social situation in some vague context with her, we get along but for one reason or another I don't think we've ever actually talked for more than two minutes. It's odd. I took Celeste along and she luckily decided to behave well again; I was kind of surprised she didn't like... bite someone's head off, or something. She can be very scary sometimes.

I'm really surprised that people complain about the Baby staff so frequently; when we were there both before and after lunch the shopgirls were so nice and attentive, following us around and making sure we could find things. One of them even looked up some information online for me; overall it's the kind of place I would have been happy to shop at even if I wasn't a huge lolita fan.

Anyways, I'll end with a really exciting photo of shit that I bought; I'm still an incurable shopaholic.

Free Calendar & postcard, hat, tights, socks, obi belt (been looking for one for months!), fur stole (I randomly saw this in the store before I realised it was the cute one [info]terbear03 was wearing a little while back. Thanks for the tip, bby <3), Circus Ribbon skirt, and that plastic umbrella from Baby (apparently, it was the last parasol/umbrella in the store)

The internet is apparently not broken; my mom just changed the network name. And router. And password. And didn't tell me D: Anyways, I'll actually have interwebs while I'm home.

Anyways, I went to buy bus tickets last night and my parents were getting all on my case about it. They were giving me advice that would have been obvious to a three year-old. It was doubly annoying because I was trying to graciously accept their admonitions to not take food from strangers (no, seriously) while I was trying to pay for the tickets and failing-- I apparently was entering my CC number wrong? At any rate, the site charged my account SIX TIMES for a total of 463.20 D: I finally got all my money back, plus the $150 I made off Stained Glass Angel (I randomly got the two things simultaneously and I do not understand it myself dX), but it was the biggest pain in the world for my account to only be showing a balance of $15 when I knew I had way more than that.

Anyhoo, everything got sorted out and I'm going to SF today. Celeste is coming because I don't want to go alone; normally I would be worried that she'd behave like an asshole but there will be company so I am hopeful!

Also. As for *the* big trip mentioned to SF earlier in the year, would people still be down for staying for a few days? Or would just a day trip be preferable? And when the heck are people free, anyways?

Apparently our router is broken, so internet access at my house is gonna be super-limited.

I'll probably be on once every day or two, but if you need a response in less than 24 hours, call my cell (I think everyone who would need to call has my number? If not, lemme know and I'll PM it to you)

Also, I'm going to post about clothes for a bit.

I thought packing would be really difficult, because I wanted all my clothes to match my coat (black x red x green tartan), but it turns out that a good quarter of my loli wardrobe works with it (fully half, or perhaps more, is pink; everything else is either cream or sax). Bringing, along with my usual set of cardis and tights:
British Bear
Melody Doll (or Fancy Melody? Fuck I cannot tell those two apart and I know for a fact that I am not the only one)
Beardsley Rose Alice
Alice and the Looking-Glass of Time
Garden Alice
Blooming Snow White
Paperdoll
Vampire Requiem
Alice in Oriental
and maybe some other skirts. I haven't decided yet (and guess whose flight leaves in half an hour? What fun!)

And for some things that I want and emphatically do not need:

This dress is just so pretty, and would be nice for spring. I may be able to find something like it at Urban Outfitters in a few months, though, so I probably won't be getting it (MILK is fucking expensive dX).

I'm kind of obsessed with this dress and the matching headbow. I like the combination of the fringe and the fake waistcoat, but I would probably never wear it-- the Melody Doll skirt, which is made out of a thin-ish wool, is usually pushing it around here. A velvet dress would be overkill of the highest degree.

We run into the same issue with the Dessert Series, which is a pity because I love the print and think the JSK is adorable.
